How to Choose the Right Limit Strap Length

Limit strap length depends on your lift height and how much droop travel you want to allow. The goal is to stop the axle before the CV joint reaches its bind angle — typically around 25-30 degrees from center. As a general rule:

  • 2-3" lift: Measure from your upper mounting point to lower with the axle fully drooped and subtract 1" — that's your strap length

Limit Strap vs. Bumpstop: What's the Difference?

Bumpstops control compression — how far the suspension can compress before the axle hits the chassis. Limit straps control droop — how far the axle can drop when the wheel goes into a hole. Limit Strap Hardware Options

Limit Straps and Droop Travel: The Math
