Performance Brake Pad Selection Guide

Street/track (1-3 days per year): Hawk HPS 5.0 — higher temp range than OEM, good cold bite, quiet enough for daily driving. EBC Yellowstuff for vehicles that generate real heat (STI, M3, 350Z).

HPDE / regular track days: Hawk DTC-60 or Carbotech XP10. These need heat to work — not for cold street use. The Carbotech XP10 is the go-to pad for NASA and SCCA competitors.

Racing: Brembo Racing RC compound, Carbotech XP12. Used by factory race teams. Dangerous on cold rotors — dedicated track use only.
